This is a continuation of the Commissioned Artwork thread (http://community.adeptgamer.com/threads/commissioned-artwork-ideas.418/), and to see whether or not people would be interested in t-shirts (or other merchandise) with commissioned Dragon's Prophet art on it.

As stated previously, we have already gotten approval from 22Rii (at least tentatively, actual details need to be discussed) that we can sell merchandise with the art we commission.

Currently our thought is with each shirt sale, we would then give that user $5 worth of Diamonds.

If anyone has any feedback of suggestions, post them here and I'll read them.

Could be a cash cow, release a different dragon every 3 months or so. Dont know if your copyright would cover this.

Shirt releases would be dependent on 22Rii's time availability.

Honestly, I think a good marketing set up for this would be to have the designs for the shirts you'd plan to make and posting them up on the site, so that the consumers can take a look and make a vote from that point. This will help get you an idea of what people are looking for.

Oh, also, a lot of marketing ploys involve "free labor" by hosting contests like a T-Shirt design contest and the winners get something in-game. That's usually a good route to go if you're looking to sell T-Shirts :D

As someone who has an art (among other) degree myself, I don't do the whole free labor thing.

We've discussed things previously with 22Rii (view the commissioned artwork thread) and she has said she's fine with us using her art on shirts and products to sell. We'd pay for the commission, then also pay a portion of the sale towards her or another artist, we just need to work out the details of where to sell the shirt, and how much they'll cost.

We're also likely to include an amount of diamonds per sale or something.

I would LOVE a t-shirt with Fleeting Snow on it :) - at least to start my collection. I hope this becomes reality.

I would love a GM Seiichi body pillow. Think that could be a thing?

I get ya, but I wasn't saying that the art work would be free. I meant it simply as displaying what the product would be. What I meant by the quotation "free labor" is revealing the true nature behind competitions. Like hosting a competition for who ever makes the best T-Shirt design will get "x" number of gems and their shirt design printed on shirts. These gimmicks usually appeal to our natural sense of competition and the reward of self gratification. So companies that do this just exploit human nature for some kind of "product".

The top post in this thread has a link to the commissioned art section, which I'm assuming is the artwork that could be put on the T-shirts, at least that is how I read it. So the pics in that thread is where you can see the possible drawings of the artwork on the T-shirt. That is also where I saw the rendering of Fleeting Snow (Yule dragon from NA) and said "Yep - I want" lol.

That artwork is by 22Rii, who designed Utyon and Kryon.

@Falhofnir is another illustrator we may talk to do some artwork so that we can get a few different styles going.
