Suggestion Sitheran Equipment Fragment

Suggestion:

--------------- Racmon the Demon Hoof (Rocmon Grotto - RG ) ---------------

- War mode:
No change.

- Moderate difficulty mode: No change.

- Hard Difficulty: (30) x Sitheran Equipment Fragment added as common loot for all party members.
[Soulbound to prevent alting.]
(Currently General Item & tradeable, a feature that is useless since you can purchase from a vendor)

-------------- General Feshawt The Bright (Black Tower - BT ) ------------------

- Explore mode:
No change.

- Adventure mode: (10) x Sitheran Equipment Fragment added as common loot for all party members.
[Soulbound to prevent alting.]
(Currently General Item & tradeable, a feature that is useless since you can purchase from a vendor)

The reason for the change being that there is no current active economy. This creates an almost impossible rat chase for gold as how its only being made via selling to vendor. This fix would save players approximately 410k gold every Hard Mode RG run, or 1/3 of that every Hard mode BT run.
410k gold even with maximum drop rate is still around 10 to 15 minutes in Dunar Temple or 5 to 10 minutes in Nucleus of Time due to vendor spam selling which also throws a lot of players off as some have damage to fingers and others just are not able to mass sell without the use of macros.

Purple text = The difficulty that would require the change.
Red text = Unchanged

Announcement Downtime & Connection Instability

As people have probably noticed, we have been having some sporadic downtime and connection instability off and on for a month, and more so this week.

The long-term issues have been because of a large-scale consistent DDoS on the primary upstream provider that is used for the data center, and is not related to our server, the data center or any other customers at the data center. This has especially affected international players, as the node attacked is primarily used for international routes. Even when the routing has been changed, there are often still issues because of how large the attack is and how it affects the performance of the upstream provider.

On top of the DDoS affecting the upstream provider, there has also been a (smaller) attack targeted specifically at servers in the data center, and the data center itself. As of this morning, the attack had eaten through around 83TB of bandwidth. To help remedy this, another line was added as well as additional DDoS protection which they have been fine tuning.

Because of the connection issues at this data center, Stealth and I have talked and we will be looking to move to one of the new data centers that he has been working on getting set up within a month (or possibly two). This means we will get shiny new upgraded servers, and we will also be making some infrastructure changes.
