Sale 50% Dragon's Prophet Diamond Bonus Weekend 7/25-7/29

Been sick and busy last few days so completely forgot about sale; sale will run until this coming Wednesday (maybe longer depending on how hectic this week is for me) and I've set it to 50% again.

For people who purchased Diamonds I will be sending the difference in what has been purchased/redeemed and it will be in your inventory.

Apparently the sale had not been disabled so it's been running since last sale; will keep it active until Wednesday still.

Bug Report Texture quality stuck at medium

There are 2 ways to fix this easily and it is not hardcoded to windows 7, thats not true. It is a faulty function in the directx10 command, that gives a non valid number to the client. They coded that it is not possible to set the texture to high, if the gpu memory is less than 768mb. The non valid number tells the client, that you have zero memory, thats the cause.

Fix 1:
download Releases · doitsujin/dxvk
copy (x64) d3d10core.dll, d3d11.dll and dxgi.dll in your root folder of dragons prophet. Start the game (dp_x64)and set it to high. It can cause crashes but it can resolve crashes aswell. Depends on the system, it seems amd gains the most. There is also a possibility of increasing fps up to 30%.

Fix 2:
modify the .exe. There are a few ways to make it happen.
for example dp_x64.exe + 0x7F7163 offset: 0x7F6563 change 74 10 to EB 10
this is the "safest" method but if it gets patched/changed you have to do it again/write a script

From memory, the function was deprecated with Windows Vista, and abandoned in the later patches of Windows 7 with the release of newer DirectX updates; it was never updated in the game. It's a single line fix to use the newer recommended function but requires a full recompilation of source for server and clients, when there are a number of bugs preventing that.

DXVK only solves the issue because it is a translation layer, and it is likely bypassing the function entirely. It also does not work as a fix because of x86 memory limitations (the x64 client is just a psuedo-x64 application) so once you hit the memory limit you will crash. It also crashes on quite a number of skills and in general introduces more instability, which is why it has not been pushed as a patch for the nVidia GPU/AMD CPU green line issue.

The majority of players also should not be hex editing when most of them do not understand the bare minimum in what they to do, even with a script.

Question

Just to configure diamonds, no. Not specifically. That said, it's my understanding that some payment methods for platinum (which is needed to purchase diamonds) require approval from whichever company or bank you choose to direct your transaction through, and Adept will not credit platinum until that transaction clears. Once the transaction clears and the platinum is credited, then you can then buy and configure a diamond package, as quickly as you can click through the steps.

You can check this page for the list of payment methods, in case a different one will be more convenient in the future. If there are no other payment methods that will be quicker for you, the recommendation is to purchase platinum in advance but then wait to buy diamonds. Diamond bonus sales happen fairly frequently—with bonuses of 30% and 50% occurring commonly, and double diamond bonuses happening a bit more rarely—so if you think you might want to buy more from the marketplace in the future, plan your platinum purchases with respect for the delay. You can check Announcements & Events to get an idea of the scheduling of these bonuses.
They weren't playing on this server, so they have already been refunded.

Is there pvp

There is some PvP in this game. You can technically PvP at any level, but most people are going to be at the level cap, geared to the nines and overstatted, so there's really no point in issuing challenges if you aren't there yet. I'm not saying don't ask before then, just don't get your hopes up. There is no unique PvP gear; however, I'm sure there are PvP builds (I don't PvP, so I can't offer more than that).

For most areas, PvP is restricted to one-on-one challenges issued by right-clicking on a player character and choosing the "Duel Invite" option. The other player may accept or decline. If they decline, the PvP session will not initiate; if they accept, you may duel immediately—there's no need to go anywhere special. The duel will be exclusively between you and the other player—no other nearby players or NPCs will be affected. Duels are less to-the-death than they are set up so that once one player's HP is low enough, they are considered to have lost and the PvP session ends. Players retain all gear, accessories, and items—the winner gets nothing except the joy of victory. If a second duel is desired, a second invitation must be issued.

In contrast to that, the Sky Islands above Laedis are where PvP is most common, and these areas do NOT require duel invites. One of the islands is entirely and eternally PvP (I think it's B19, but don't quote me), though it's usually empty because of the low server population. All of the other accessible islands are mostly PvE but do have Napolite mines, which are active PvP zones. Every couple of days are guild wars, where guilds can hop to mirror versions of the islands and fight for control of them. Again, if you are in these PvP areas in the Sky Islands, duel invitations are not necessary or expected. Victory in the guild wars allows for opportunities to defend special island fortresses, and victory at the fortresses gives special rewards.

I will note that PvP has never been a popular aspect of this game, so depending on how strong your interest in it is, I wouldn't expect to be able to get your fix for it here.

Tips?

In brief, oracles are going to be more on the magical side of things (Dragon Affinity and Intelligence), so focus on that.

For any class, you need to look for and prioritize the collection of accessories—necklaces, earrings, rings—containing charisma, as this quality is vital to your ability to tame dragons reliably. The higher their level, the harder it will be to tame them, and while most dragons will be at your level or at a set level that you can eventually match and surpass to make taming simpler (rarer dragons at your level will still be harder to tame than common dragons at your level), there are certain special dragons that will adjust their level to always be five levels above yours. You'll need charisma (and sometimes dragon drive potion) to overcome that gap. This will be a constant search until you reach the level cap, and it's recommended to have a set of accessories for capture that's separate from the accessories you wear for combat.

As for guilds, you can apply to guilds in-game via the Lyaree Brotherhood Guild Clerk or make an announcement in chat that you're searching for a guild. The community is small, so depending on who's online, the latter method may get a more immediate response.
