When leaves fall to the ground during the later reaches of the year, these mystical miniature wonders are thought to be the doing of Ceresa, the Matron of Autumn. Whether this is truth or not is purely down to the beliefs of the the Osira and are not tied to the meticulous Skyhammer texts.
What remains to be true though, is that Ceresa does indeed exist. The rotation of the seasons have never been fully understood in their rhythmic dance across time, but it seems to have small connection to the hibernation cycle of a dragon like Ceresa. Dragons that bear similarity are known to wake on the exact day the first leaf falls and resume their slumber when the snow begins to settle.
With the aged, weak leaves strewn across their wings, it makes this dragon appear weak and fragile. However, like a stick insect mimics its habitat with fleshy mock-ups of nature – Ceresa's fragile wings are actually of the tactility and weight of a typical Fabled Ancient.
Due to sleeping so fervently through most of the seasons, the Laedis Academy makes such a dragon available only during the exit of its hibernation period – barring exceptional circumstances.
