If: 1. There is a message that a dragon has appeared and recalculated.
2. You know for sure that the dragon will be there.
Otherwise you may have missed it.

I didn't come to help, I just wanted to say GG to the dungeon points

I've had the same thing happen with vibrant thunder long time ago, it was a painful grind with no payoff

Did the boss respawn after you had received the message that the dragon had appeared? If so, the dragon automatically despawns as this is counted as another run.
