Because we are likely going to see an influx of players in the immediate future I thought it would be a good idea to preview some of what we've been working on behind the scenes.

Concept Art

One of the biggest tasks that we have been working on has been expanding upon the concept art we'll have available when we finish our update. We have been working with @22RII, @Vipera, @Theluji and @heminyx to create new model concepts and some recolors of existing dragon models. These are some of the ones that are finished, but there are many more ideas that we will be working on in the future.

Amhuinn, Protector of Travelers

Called the Protector of Travelers, Amhuinn is known to save travelers who are lost in the woods. The vines and flowers that grow from its body are considered a panacea able to cure all wounds and ailments, making it widely sought after. While Amhuinn is usually docile and gentle when attacked it will retaliate with it's overwhelming strength.

Falkor, the Wish Dragon

Extremely wise and kind, Falkor is among the friendliest and most dignified of dragons. Sought after due to it's innate ability to increase luck of those it bonds with, Falkor is also a strong fighter and capable of holding its own against the best.

Yuletide Joy, the Festive Snoozyfloof

This emerald green and scarlet dragon is seen only during the Osiran midwinter festivities, assisting Karuna and Randolph in delivering presents. With its warm and joyful smile it spreads happiness and merriment to all it blesses with its gifts and presence. It is often heard at twilight singing endearing songs about the Osira and their bond with dragonkind.

Ivory Shadow, the Hidden Watcher

This dragon is deceptively difficult to spot, able to hide practically in plain sight even with it's bright coloring. With highly sensitive senses even when spotted it is extremely difficult to approach without being detected. When it is threatened Ivory Shadow is particularly nasty, protecting himself and any he has bonded with.

Arsir, the Scarlet Dragolich

Arsir, the more violent of the Dragolich siblings is permanently stained with the blood of it's victims. Prone to attacking without cause or reason, many travelers have lost their lives at the claws of this dragon. As cruel as it is strong, this dragon is one to be wary of, and best avoided if possible.

Imri, the Azure Dragolich

Imri, the less violent but more intelligent of the Dragolich siblings. Extremely skilled in the use of magic, this dragon's strength lies in it's intelligence, cunning and sheer force of will. While not as cruel as it's sibling, when angered there is no saving the cause of their ire.

Faceted Dragons

A new variation of existing models, Faceted dragons will be more ornate dragons studded with gems.

You can see all of the concepts we have posted publicly here: Dragon's Prophet Concept Art

Merchandise

While not exactly dealing with content creation, we have also been working with our illustrators to come up with new merchandise to make available to players who are interested. The majority of merchandise is of existing dragons, while a few will be new color variants of existing models.

Each purchase of $25 or more will also receive 500 Platinum for use in purchasing Diamonds.

You can see the available merchandise here: AdeptGamer's Merchandise | Featuring custom t-shirts, prints, and more

Research

The majority of work that we have done has been research. Researching existing mobs and mechanics, compiling data on how things work internally in the game, and discovering functionality or content that can be adjusted or expanded upon are extremely important to future updates.

To bring forth new concepts, ideas and the overall vision that we have for Dragon's Prophet will greatly rely on the research that is done by @Haterslayer, @Light and @newb. The more that we are able to learn and understand now will greatly affect future updates and the content that we can provide.

New (and old) Content

Now for the information that is most important to most players... Content!

We have previewed Devouring Void previously, which is the unfinished 108 dungeon. We have recently been testing what needs to be done to get the Dungeon completely ready for release. We have also begun doing play testing to test how hard we should make the dungeon, and how we should pace it. There is a possibility that we may use the dungeon for an event so that people can see it, but it would be made up of placeholders and not completed.

For those that are nostalgic from the original beta of Dragon's Prophet, you probably fondly remember Satuma and the original introductory tutorial. Thanks to the research that has been done and the hardwork by @Light we should be able to bring both back soon after we release our source update.

Both new and old content will not be ready immediately after we release our update as we will need to fix some issues with Devouring Void, and add missing functionality and features that didn't exist back during the beta to Satuma.

Retexturing

Along with making unreleased dragons available, adding the missing Brastens to battlegrounds and expanding mechanics we will also be working on completely re-texturing all dragons. This may not be fully available with the release of our update, but we will continue to offer updates with new retextured dragons while adding new functionality and bug fixes.

In regards to previous timelines, we are a bit behind due to delays on other projects, but we will continue to keep you up to date every so often. Real updates take time, and it's best not to rush just to make a quick buck. Be assured that our primary concern is making sure that Dragon's Prophet survives a long time, and continues to grow and evolve as we develop it.

This is a lot of hard work, thank you for the update Team - can that boss in the Old/New Concept have a truck load of tissues standing by, he's going to need them :p
Really looking forward to the Pegasus type coming on line as many, including me would love a fly horse.

The boss shown is Nefarious Rageknot (Runewakers name), or Tibtibs according to Hater. He's in Devouring Void, which we'll probably be using for this weekends Dungeon so that people can try it out.

We don't know when the Pegasus will be added as we'll need to do a lot of work to add a whole new model with animations in. We may include the non-flying models first, and then the flying ones later on.

Randolph really should fly. He's a Christmas reindeer after all. :D

No, We do not want anything un dragon related in a game meant for all dragons. Go play Rider of Icurus for that. This game suppose to be dragon only. 4 leg 2 wings or 2 leg 2 wing but no other things like horses or stuff. Ruins the game.

Longma - Wikipedia

There are many variations of dragons through history and mythology, and the point would be to make them more dragon like. The current Mythical dragons aren't very dragon-like, whereas the new one would have more scales and more focus on draconic characteristics.

Also adding more options for style of dragons to the game is something that would help it in the long run; maybe not to the degree of Rider of Icarus, but having dragons with different animal characteristics or aspects while still retaining a draconic visage would only work to pull more people into a game that has been on a decline for years now.

A lot of people do like Mythical Dragons, or other variety of dragons so to cater to everyone we'll be looking at all options within reason.
