Halcyon Gaze

Scales of stone is the first phrase that describes these ancient wizards – standing perfectly still like gargoyles in service of their hovel. Their lack of movement in meditation leads them to live long lives with survivors witnessing long before the calamity of the Second Dragon War. Their names were acquired from their ability to lithify flesh by merely casting their eyes upon their target. This has multiple uses besides just freezing targets. It can be used to preserve their bodies for years and even preserve perishable food for long lengths of time.

This ancient art of theirs seems lost to the ages however as their mighty power was once loaned to construct mighty monuments of people of power in an instant, but the greed of man got to the best of them and cursed the Halcyon to a small sliver of their former power.
